Office Supplies Going Up In Cost
If you've spent anytime recently shopping for office supplies at brick and mortar locations, you have probably noticed that the prices seem to be going up. While this is directly tied to a number of factors including the current economy, the soaring cost of fuel also plays a huge part. Most any office supply store has to pay freight costs on all items that are trucked in or delivered. Since the cost of fuel has gone up, the cost of having those items brought in goes up as well. The increased costs of inbound shipping are then passed onto the retail customer through increased prices. Now, now all the increased delivery costs are passed through, but you will pay more for these supplies.

A good friend of mine is the manager of a very successful Staples store, and he was saying that they have been raising prices about 1% each month since fuel started to climb to offset the higher shipping expenses.
This is an area where online office supply vendors can really shine as they don't have the same expenses costs associated with brick and mortar stores. While they are feeling the fuel crunch as well through shipping costs, it's typically less as they are sing commercial carriers for dropshipping versus freight carriers.
